When I was a kid, these were the only games we owned: Sorry, Monopoly, Othello, Checkers, Battleship, Stratego. Let’s just say that I spent a lot of time in the library and playing outside.
This game, The Settlers of Catan, hit the scene in 1995 and by 2009 had sold over 15 million copies. I’m not going to delve into the intricacies of the game here. However, it is entertaining enough to keep certain members of my own family occupied for hours at a time.
Not much has changed for me. I still prefer books.
