Jerusalem, perhaps more than other capital cities, has a very large foreign resident population, made up of journalists, UN workers, and diplomats. It’s fluid by its very nature, with a large turnover rate. One family whose stay in Jerusalem lasted just a few years, decided to throw a big farewell bash for their children, days before they got on a plane for Switzerland, their next home.
Although their children didn’t seem to be more than 7 and 9-years-old, amazingly they had either lived in or visited Switzerland, Israel, Iran, Afghanistan, Netherlands, France, Suriname, Colombia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Peru, South Africa, and Kenya.
Can you identify the flags? Hint: Some of them were just too difficult to reproduce and didn’t make it onto the cake. Here are Afghanistan and Peru, for example.
Pity the schoolchildren in those countries; I always thought Canada’s maple leaf flag was tough to duplicate.
