This post is dedicated to all the procrastinators out there. Yes, I’m talking to you.
If you’ve already ordered your Rosh Hashanah Temptations cake you can stop reading right now.
But then of course you’d miss out on the hilarious* holiday-themed joke at the end. Your call.
In case you didn’t have a chance to read last week’s post, or you’re somehow oblivious to the passage of time, Rosh Hashanah will soon be upon us. Yes, the prayer and repentance are important, I’ll allow. But nobody contemplates the arrival of Rosh Hashanah without giving even a passing thought to the food, and especially the dessert. So forget all your past New Year’s resolutions, and resolve right here and now to present your family and guests with a completely unforgettable finale to your meal.
The deadline is fast approaching and no matter how hard or how long the little kitchen elves work, we do have a breaking point. So don’t be disappointed and get in your order today.
And now the joke:
On the morning of Rosh Hashanah, Rivka went into the bedroom to wake her son and tell him it was time to get ready to go to Shul, to which he replied in a dull voice, “I’m not going.”
“Why not?”
“I’ll give you two good reasons, Mother. One, they don’t like me, and two, I don’t like them.”
Rivka replied in an exasperated voice, “I’ll give you two good reasons why you must go. One, you’re 54-years-old, and two, you’re the Rabbi.”
*(OK, maybe “hilarious” was a bit of an exaggeration.)
