Cake Of The Week is turning five! It’s been a tumultuous time. We’ve chuckled, we’ve cried, we’ve celebrated, we’ve been downright confused about our emotions. I know you’re wondering, is there going to be a party? Well yes, in a way. We’re celebrating by going on summer hiatus for a few weeks, giving the oven some alone time, and refreshing our creative juices.
What does this mean for you, our loyal readership? How are you to fill your time? Well, happily for you, there are five years of Cake Of The Week blog posts to catch up on. We’ve installed a complete archive (organized by month, right there on top, beneath the subscription box – to the right of the fireworks photo. That’s it, you found it). You might also want to re-take our Which Cake Are You Personality Quiz. Who knows? You may have had a change of identity since the last time you tried it. When you’re done with those, may I recommend Margaret Atwood’s The Blind Assassin?
But the festivities don’t end there. Refer everyone you know to Temptations. Until October 31, each time you and a friend place an order you will both enjoy a 15% discount. Make sure they mention you when they order. This is a great opportunity anytime, but will be particularly handy during the autumn holiday season.
Looking back over the last year, I’d like to say that every cake was my favourite as I was working on it. But that’s not even remotely true. Some were repeats, some disappointingly humdrum, some requests were ill-conceived or just in questionable taste. Don’t worry, I won’t subject you to those. Instead, as in previous years, I’ve chosen my ten favourite Cakes Of The Week of the past year. Click on the image or the title to read the original post.
See you back here in a few weeks as we embark on our sixth glorious year!
